Exec. Director Invited to Parliament Hill

February 2010, Ottawa – TYD Executive Director addresses Parliamentary Forum on Crime Prevention and National Security

While Parliament was suspended early in the year, the Liberal Party of Canada held a number of “public hearings”, including a forum on Crime Prevention & National Security. Over 200 people gathered to listen and ask questions from a panel of experts. TYD’s Executive Director, Brian Keaney was one of the invited panelists, sharing his expertise on combating youth crime. Each panelist gave a statement which was followed by questions from the forum. A number of Liberal MP’s were part of the forum including Justin Trudeau, Senator Art Eggleton and Stéphane Dion, former Liberal Leader.

Our kids open the TSX

Monday, December 21, 2009 – Toronto Youth Development Opens the TSX Market

David Keaney, Chairman, Brian Keaney, Executive Director and the children of Toronto Youth Development, joined Peter Conroy, CEO, Shorcan Brokers Limited, a TMX group of companies to open the market to celebrate the 10th annual Shorcan Charity Day. Each January, for one day, the brokers donate their fees and commissions to TYD to assist our children’s charity.

Toronto, July 13, 2009 – Global TV Susan Hay features TYD Summer Camps

TYD was fortunate to have Susan Hay from Global TV produce a featured segment on TYD’s summer camps to show piece the need for TYD programs in the community. The television feature was aired on the 5:30pm Global news time slot. Thousands of people viewed, which resulted in much needed awareness of TYD’s mission to a mass audience.

Mississauga, July 21, 2008 – TYD invited to attend BMO field and play soccer with West Ham United Football Club

West Ham United Football Club is recognised for their vision and dedication towards the local communities in London, UK. In town for the Pepsi MLS Soccer All-Star Game on Thursday July 24, West Ham United will extend their community commitment globally, to a group of at-risk, inner-city boys and girls from the Regent Park, Toronto community, who are taking part in Toronto Youth Development’s ASE Summer Camp.

TD Canada Trust Donates to Local Children’s Charity

Toronto, July 2008 – TD Canada Trust local branch donates to help support TYD summer camps

Jean-Paul Durdos, Branch Manager at TD Canada Trust (Parliament St and Queen St W) saw a need within the community and set in motion a substantial donation to Toronto Youth Development (TYD). The donation was directed into the summer camps in order to help with the delivery or children’s programs.
